Sharper isn't always better

Many of the greatest images ever taken, the most memorable, the iconic moments, weren't sharp. Not even close. Does it matter? Not in the slightest, because they fully expressed the moment, the narrative, the emotion of the event.

For headshots, architecture, for corporate clients, for advertising, sure, we usually need sharp images. But for more artistic photography, to show some feeling and emotion, or even in capturing a moment at an event, sometimes sharp isn't better.
